About Wright Interiors
Roger’s background includes a BA in Art from Wheaton College with a minor in Geology. He took the program for education and received a Secondary Teaching Certificate for Illinois, and participated in the Advanced ROTC program. After college, he served in the United States Army for two years as an officer in the Signal Corps with the MOS 8500, Photographic Unit Commander in Seoul, Korea, and back in the states as the Assistant Chief of Instructional TV at the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. For the next eight years, he was an art and industrial arts teacher at Herrick Junior High School in Downers Grove, Illinois, instructing hundreds of students in the basic artistic elements of design relationships, color, drawing, painting, crafts, ceramics, woodworking, leather tooling, working with plastics, and programs in model rocketry and CO2 powered race cars.
At that time, Roger felt the Lord was directing him into another area, and eventually established Wright Interiors in 1979 as a Sole Proprietorship. Operating out of Wheaton for the first twenty two years, the basic service area included the western suburban area roughly bounded by Elmhurst to the east, Naperville to the south, Aurora to St Charles on the west, and Carol Stream to the north. However, some projects have been taken as far north as Crystal Lake and Long Grove, south to Joliet, and west past the Fox River. Now operating from Oswego, Wright Interiors will continue to serve these areas as well as new areas to the southwest like Plainfield and Yorkville.
